long days

So let's see here. Time sure flies and things sure are crazy. Izzie is talking a TON. Mostly gibberish but there are some sentences flying out of her every once in a while. We've been sick the last few days which is terrible, but Scott has yet to catch anything. He's back to work and working hard. He did overtime last week.....plus schooling two nights, so needless to say we didn't see much of him. But this week is better. He turned 26 today. I can't believe it's been that long. I mean, I knew him back in high school and here we are. I don't know what else to put on here. A lot of things have been going on and I would like to share but I feel that they'd be too mundane. Oh get this, Monica Masog is finally getting hitched. wow. somday I might even walk down that isle with mr. mckinnon. Who the heck knows. but for the time being, Izzie no longer takes naps and is on the wilder side. she is discovering what she can and can't get away with. The garage is beautiful and cozy now. I can't wait to get the yard in order. Well it is time to go watch a movie while the kid is in bed and Scott's at school for another hour. WOO HOO!

the joy of not working

The holidays have come and gone and I can't believe it's a new year. Wow. Scott has been layed off since the week of Christmas. Stupid unemployment has to review his case (because he's an apprentice) and he won't get any checks for 4-6 weeks. LAME! I thought unemployment was supposed to help people. Anyway. He's been working like a maniac. He pulled 2 engines out and put one in all in 15 hours in one day. I can't believe it. He amazes me. He's also been working around the house. He began with hooking up the ice maker for the refrigerator which turned into tearing out the wall in the garage, re-plumming and re-wiring. Then he put a new wall up. I painted it. He put up a shelf above the washer and drier, layed carpet in the garage and made a cover for the hot water heater so it stays insulated and appealing to the eye. Also put up another shelf for shoes. We're making curtains for out there and pretty much just re-vamping the entire garage. WOW. Izzie's been a great help. She's also changing a bit. She doesn't really nap any more. She just has quiet time in her crib for a few hours. She likes and. She just talks and sings and jumps in there and sometimes she falls asleep. She's getting pretty big. She's also reaching perfection on her tricycle. I'm so proud of her. I'll post a load of pictures soon. Right now I've got to get the rest of the garage painted and try to clean up the mess or should I say multiple messes in the house. ugh.

well it has been a while. I've been doing some work on the home front to turn it into more of a 'home'. I'll be posting pictures as soon as the 'home' is complete. The fireplace is awesome as is the kitchen. These days I find myself in the kitchen more often than not. I love to cook and I love to bake. I can't wait to make fudge and all the Christmas goodies this year (seeing as it will be my first year baking for Christmas). My mother and I have been fighting which has been a major stress, but hopefully things will turn out just fine. I'm also very ticked that Obama won. How can people vote for a man that supports induced labor abortion!!! With this form of abortion, they induce the mothers labor for example at 22 weeks and when the baby is born, they leave the baby in the dirty laundry room and let him/her die. What on earth is going on with the world that we let innocent children die. I mean, it's bad enough that we kill them at 6 weeks and younger or further along, but to actually force the labor and then let the baby die. That's MURDER! Pre-meditated murder. What is this country coming too when we let murder go away without punishment. I'm wondering why God isn't striking these folks dead.

So that brings me to "what can I do?". We certainly can't afford to donate money to charities to help these children. I'm thinking about making blankets and donate them to www.heavenlyangelsinneed.com I think you who are reading should do this as well. Check out this video too....I had a dream/nightmare the day that I watched this video. I dreamt that I saved one of the children that were left to die and raised him as our son. It was quite a dream.

As well as contemplating that idea. I would like to create some recycled art to sell. I made myself this cookbook. I'll have to post some pictures of it to see what you think of it and if you would buy. If that's the case....anyone want to get rid of their old magazines? Send them my way!!!

potty time!

My darling Izzie will be 18 months here shortly and she is already learning to use her potty chair. She's always been fascinated with it, taking it apart and sitting on there while mommy goes potty. But these days, she prefers to be naked ever since last week when she went poo poo on the potty and then a few days later went pee pee in the potty. So now the struggle comes with having her listen to her body, I think it's working, I really do. But I just wish it would happen a bit faster ya know. But no need to rush, it's just one more thing making my baby grow up. I just love how she's doing this all on her own. No screaming or fear about anything new or changes. She weened herself off her own bottle. She just all the sudden one day, did not want it. The same with the binkie. She hands it to me after every nap and when she wakes up in the morning. She just needs that extra comfort while she sleeps. I've got a great kid.

Take a look at these flicks. The first two are from yesterday. While running around naked she decided to rummage through her dresser and put all these clothes on by herself. 2 shirts, shorts and a bathing suit:)

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed

If you have yet to see this film, don't waste any more time. It is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. It's not boring or bombarding. Okay, so there is a lot of mind blowing information, but Ben Stein does an AMAZING job of staying neutral and presenting the facts. We do own this movie and if you'd like to borrow it, we'd be more than happy to lend it out. The music in this film rocks which makes it more appealing to the younger generation. Also, if you have a mind to, go to www.academicfreedompetition.com and read the information there so that you can sign this petition and get freedom back IN the classrooms.

touching

My Son....

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war.. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wante
d you to have this.'

The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay
what your son did for me. It's a gift.'

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to hi s home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son The auctioneer pounded his gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this pictu
re of the son. Who will bid for this picture?'

There was silence.

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings.
Skip this one.'

But the auctioneer persisted.. 'Will somebody bid for this painting Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?'

Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Goghs, the Rembrandts
. Get on with the real bids!'

But still the auctioneer conti
nued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?'

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting.' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

'We have $10, who will bid $20?'

'Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters
.'

'$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?'

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.

They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pound
ed the gave l. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!'

A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!'

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the aucti
on is over.'

'What about the paintings?'

'I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulati on in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.
The man who took the son gets everything!'

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross
. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: 'The son, the son, who'll take the son?'

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT'S LOVE

God Bless.
